Certified on the bench – verified in the real world

Not just for the bench – versatile emission technology by HJS. Society's and vehicle users' sensitivity to the issue and fundamental importance of environmental protection is growing worldwide. The diesel-emissions bombshell that has befallen the automotive industry and dominated the headlines over the past weeks clearly highlights the potential impact. Without doubt, the entire industry is going to have to take a long, hard look at itself.

The adoption of more and more laws and legal requirements, such as Stage V in Europe, underlines this trend. "For machinery and vehicle users, this means that the situation as regards their equipment will most likely become even more complex as there are a large number of engine manufacturers who still don't have the necessary technology on board", says Dirk Maiworm, key account manager at HJS Emission Technology. "Furthermore, the ongoing globalisation of the marketplace is heightening the heterogeneity of regional and national emissions legislation with its specific, local-market aspects. This in turn poses special challenges to manufacturers and suppliers."

Every transition to a new emission legislation stage consequently confronts the market players with serious challenges: "This directly affects all levels", explains Maiworm. "Engine manufacturers must ensure that they comply with an unprecedented array of environmental regulations by employing ever more complex technologies. "Real driving emissions" (RDE) and "in-use compliance" are key buzzwords – and machinery manufacturers will have to integrate increasingly sophisticated drive trains into their products. At the same time, users are obliged to keep up to speed with the various changes and to retrofit their fleet or machinery as required."

Many manufacturers are already offering solutions for tackling the future challenges of the markets, but do these solutions really cover each and every specific vehicle requirement and application area?

HJS has more than 40 years of experience in the field of emission aftertreatment and offers cost-effective solutions for exhaust systems that are truly fit for purpose, such as:

  • Conversion of fleets to future-proof emissions technology
  • Emission upgrade of Stage IIIA engines with standalone exhaust systems to Stage IV – already prepared for Stage V compliance thanks to the integration of a SMF® particulate filter
  • Affordable and low-maintenance products for emerging markets
  • Development of limited-edition and mass-volume series in full OE quality, in particular, applications development
  • End-to-end development of complete exhaust systems, including OBD and certification

You will find the HJS Team at this year's AGRITECHNICA in Hanover (10 - 14 November) in Hall 17 on Stand E29 – to discuss your topics about emission aftertreatment.
