Low Emission Zones in Europe
In order to improve air quality, many European cities have introduced local emission regulations, known as Low Emission Zones (LEZ) or Environmental Zones (E-Zones). LEZ regulations can be used to ban vehicles and equipment that do not meet specified levels of exhaust emissions.
ERECA companies have already retrofitted tens of thousands of vehicles and machines to meet LEZ emission standards. At ERECA we engage and collaborate with pan-European and national bodies on the development of Low Emission Zones and certification schemes for exhaust retrofit emission control technologies. However, a lot remains to be done across Europe.
